So...Back in August I nailed my first SAG commercial. (Mind you I haven't been seriously pursuing any serious acting for years). A friend forwarded me a casting notice, he said, "you're a hairy guy, check this out..." So I respond, and they call me in.
It was the easiest audition I've ever done. I went in, they said, "Bernie Kravitz?" I said, "Yes." They said, "Take off your shirt." I did. I turned around, and showed my lovely hirsute back to the camera, holding a small card with my name on it, just below. I tried to smile, crack some jokes, give the ol' camera some mojo. But the casting director wanted none of it. The only mojo that camera wanted was my hairy back.
Long story short. I booked the commercial. It shot back in August. And it's just been released this past week. I've been getting reports from friends and family here and there that they've spotted me on TV. Apparently it ran during the Simpsons.
My favorite quote thus far, "Even hairy, you look cute!"
